【Taichung · Cafe】Jiun Coffee: A cozy renovated old house hidden in Fengyuan’s alleys with freshly baked bread

On a weekend in June 2026, I visited Jiun Coffee (駿咖啡) in Fengyuan, Taichung. This cafe is a beautifully renovated old house tucked away in a quiet alley, just a few steps from the busy main streets. As soon as you step inside, you are greeted by a nostalgic atmosphere and the rich aroma of coffee. It is the kind of place where time seems to slow down, making it perfect for a relaxing afternoon.

📍 1. A Hidden Gem in the Alleys of Fengyuan

The cafe is located in an alley off Bo’ai Street in Fengyuan.

At the entrance, you’ll find an array of freshly baked bread and scones that look almost too good to pass up. The exterior retains the texture of an old residence, giving it a very warm and welcoming feel. The menu is quite extensive, offering everything from specialty coffees to light snacks, so there’s something for everyone.

📍 2. The Irresistible Scent of Freshly Baked Bread

One of the highlights of this cafe is the bread they bake in-house.

The shelves are filled with delicious-looking options, and you can tell each piece is made with care. Many locals stop by just to buy the bread. It’s a great treat to pair with your coffee while you soak in the surroundings.

📍 3. A Relaxing Space Retaining Old House Charm

After ordering on the first floor, I headed up to the second-floor seating area.

The interior features exposed red brick pillars and retro tile floors, which blend perfectly with the vintage-style furniture. Sunlight pours in through the large windows, creating a peaceful environment for reading or quiet contemplation. The greenery placed throughout the room adds a refreshing, natural touch.

📍 4. Specialty Coffee and Refreshing Berry Soda

During this visit, I tried the owner’s recommended coffee and a cold fruit soda.

The coffee recommended by the owner (I forgot the specific name, but it was excellent) was clean and full-bodied, showcasing the beans' unique characteristics. I also ordered the "Mixed Berry Soda." Its vibrant red color was beautiful, and the tartness of the berries combined with the fizzy carbonation was incredibly refreshing for a humid June afternoon.

💡 Ryobiyori’s Travel Notes:

The cafe is very close to Fengyuan Station, making it very accessible. It’s a bit hidden in the alley, so keep your eyes peeled for the sign! I recommend visiting in the early afternoon when the bread selection is at its peak. It’s one of my favorite spots in Fengyuan for a quiet moment away from the city noise.
