[EN] Tokyo | Super Hotel Ueno Okachimachi Review: Best Budget Stay

In February 2025, I stayed at Super Hotel Ueno Okachimachi (スーパーホテル上野・御徒町) during my trip to Tokyo. If you're looking for a high CP value (cost-performance) hotel in a prime location, this is one of the best choices for solo travelers and couples.

📍 1. Perfect Location: Surrounded by Transit & Shopping

The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location.

  • Transportation: Only a few minutes walk to JR Okachimachi Station (Yamanote Line) and Metro stations like Naka-Okachimachi (Hibiya Line).

  • Convenience: There are multiple 24-hour convenience stores and supermarkets nearby. It’s also within walking distance to Ameyoko Market, making it perfect for last-minute souvenir shopping.

📍 2. Room Review: Compact but Functional

Tokyo hotels are known for being small, and Super Hotel is no exception. However, it is designed with "Smart" features in mind.

Instead of a physical key, the hotel uses a digital code lock system. The room is equipped with a large TV, air purifier, and a spacious desk which is great for digital nomads. The unit bath is standard but sparkling clean with great water pressure.

📍 3. Free Organic Breakfast: A Great Start to Your Day

One of the highlights of staying at Super Hotel is the Complimentary Organic Breakfast.

They offer freshly baked bread, organic salads, and hot dishes like Japanese curry. Having a nutritious meal for free before heading out to explore Tokyo saves a lot of money and time!

📍 4. Extra Perks: Welcome Bar

From late afternoon to evening, the hotel offers a "Welcome Bar" in the lounge where guests can enjoy free alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

💡 Ryobiyori’s Final Thoughts

  • Who is it for? Budget-conscious travelers who want to stay on the Yamanote Line and appreciate free breakfast.

  • Pro Tip: The hotel is very close to the Ginza Line (Ueno-Hirokoji Station), which takes you directly to Ginza and Shibuya in minutes.
